LearnLaw | |
What did you like
best about the LearnLaw
Program?
"It afforded a survey and a realistic
picture of what attending law school is actually like versus
studying for the bar and practicing law. It also provided
a source of guidance for questions about success
in a legal profession and legal
education."
"I really enjoyed the instructor’s style & learned much
from her [Dr. Pang]."
"Informative, knowledgeable teacher, supportive
reading
materials."
"Got a sense of law school experience . .
."
"That it gave me a bit of an insight of
what to expect from a law class and taught me that the law is
a complicated subject."
"Considering the depth of material
covered in first years classes, LearnLaw offered a way to
become familiar with these topics."
"Covering one subject area per session
really helps in presenting the high level concepts in short
form & in a way that students can compare the different
topic areas."
"Learning about how to approach topics in law
school. The
IRAC thought process."
"I
enjoyed the exposure to the basic principle areas of law. The
information and discussion
has helped me to think about
whether
or not I want to persue a
law degree."
"The
breakdown/basic
overview of six courses (subjects)
taken
during the
1st year. I
also have a jump
on starting outlines and
familiarizing
myself with
the material. I know what to
expect
as far as
approaching my
1st year."
What skills did
the LearnLaw Program develop or improve for
you?
"My analytical reasoning skills––which
desperately need to be improved––for this type of study (Law)
–– I did not realize how imperative logical
reasoning/deduction/induction, etc…, were to the
practice/study of law."
"Organization of the basics"
"I’ve starting understand the concept
of limiting the scope of my thoughts to whatever the subject
matter for the course is. Conceptually it seems
easy, but I find myself trying t apply certain notes to the
wrong area of law.
This class has provided a great overview for the diff.
Areas in it comparative
presentation."
"It
improved my analytical skills"
"It
helped me to
begin thinking analytically & critically rather
than
to jump
straight to
conclusions. Also, the
intimidation factor has
decreased when
approaching legal jargon
and reading."
