LearnLaw

The LearnLaw™ program is designed to teach the basics of fundamental legal courses as determined by the American Bar Association. The program provides you with a basic understanding of legal terminology, research methods, case analysis, reasoning and issue spotting. You are exposed to fundamental, substantive law that will allow you, upon completion of the program to be able to read law school cases, extract facts, understand legal reasoning and basic legal principles.

You are introduced to what to expect in law school, and the methods that you will need to quickly master to be successful in the study of law.  You are exposed to the concepts and uniquenesses of the Socratic Method, the “black letter law” approach and how to read and digest case law. The LearnLaw™ program consists of nine modules that introduce the major concepts of the law--contracts, torts, criminal law, constitutional law, real property and civil procedure.  The capstone of the course is an introduction to case law briefing and a final mock class in which students will be given the experience of preparing for and participating in a simulated law school class.
